Aycan was killed in her apartment in the Fatih area of Istanbul. Her throat was slit, and she was stabbed 17 times.
The assailants also stabbed her roommate, Seyhan Özmemiş, aged 32, who survived. Witnesses reportedly observed three people fleeing the scene, but no one has been arrested.
