A dismembered body was found in the Kalimalang River in East Jakarta and Bekasi. Her date of death is unknown, but was probably sometime during the last week of March.

“Although the body had breasts, our forensic investigation found the size of the legs and thighs was very close to that of the male body discovered separately,” Jakarta Police detective Comr. Arif Setiawan, heading the investigation, said.

Last week, local residents found a headless torso and severed body parts believed to be of a young woman, along the Kalimalang River. The remains were taken to the National Police’s Sukanto Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, for identification.

Arif said his team was now focusing its investigation on areas where Jakarta transsexuals usually gathered, in search of any information on people who may have been missing since the last week in March.
