Jessica lived at the Coloso housing unit in Acapulco. She was killed as she walked from Chilpancingo to the community San Vicente. The Centre for Studies and Projects for Integral Human Development (CEPRODEHI) declared that Jessica had come to Chilpancingo a week before her death to work as a sex worker on the Vicente Guerrero boulevard.
