Jessica was found dead in her car on Avenida Lucas Nogueira Garcez. She had been shot twice - once in the head and once in the neck. Nothing was stolen.
Reportedly she was killed by two men on a passing motorcycle.
A [trans woman] was killed [at 10:15pm] on Thursday night (24) in São Bernardo do Campo, in Greater São Paulo. The crime took place on Avenida Lucas Nogueira Garcez, in the city center, close to km 18 of the Anchieta highway.
According to police, the [trans woman] was driving in a red EcoSport, passing down the avenue, when a motorcycle with two men intercepted the car and shot her with several shots.
The driver died on the spot and her companion, who was another [trans woman], ran away from the scene. There is no information if she was also injured. The police officers who attended the incident reported that the victim was the head of other [trans women] on Rua Indico, who was known in the region for renting hotels and other points for [trans women].
The two men who shot fled on a motorcycle towards Diadema. The case will be forwarded to the 1st Police District of São Bernardo do Campo.
A relative told the authorities that Jessica had lived openly as transgender since she was 22 and was well liked in the area.
