The victim was around 29 years old. The body was found with stab wounds and marks of strangulation near a cart track. As the victim did not have any relatives in the area, neighours suspect that she was from El Salvador. She was last seen on the night of 19 August in a disco, and some persons, who were possibly the perpetrators, picked her up. According to the authorities, her body showed signs of sexual abuse.
