Erica Hernandez

Erica was stabbed.

Erica Hernandez, a Latina transgender woman, died of stab wounds on December 17, 2011. A suspect, Titus Willis, is currently awaiting trial for second degree murder. Media sources state that a second suspect believed to be involved is free.

According to police and prosecutors, Erica reportedly got into an altercation with Titus Willis and a second person after Hernandez, who knew and was visiting Willis, stepped on one of the suspects’ sunglasses. A verbal altercation escalated, and became physical.

At one point, one of the suspects allegedly stabbed Hernandez in the back of the neck. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the emergency room.
