Yara was beaten to death with a piece of wood by a former lover.
Lucas de Almeida Silva confessed to her murder.
The [trans woman] [deadname] Durães Rosa Vugo “Yara”, 24, was beaten to death on Monday night, in Cujubim (RO).
The police were called by witnesses to appear on the street in Sector 07, reporting that at the scene a man was attacking a person with a stick. Upon arriving at the scene, [Yara] was found with head injuries. She was taken to the health clinic but confirmed dead by the duty doctor.
According to information collected by the Police, [Yara] had been threatened with death by her ex-partner, identified as Lucas de Almeida Silva. According to the police, she received several blows to the head with a blunt object - namely a stick. The police are investigating the chances of a misunderstanding and a possible "hate crime and jealousy".
The perpetrator of the crime was identified as Lucas by information from witness who witnessed the murder. The Police arrested him while carrying out investigations in the vicinity and he confessed to the murder.
