Raica's body was found on Estr. Da Ceasa with hands and feet tied and gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
The family of [deadname] Moraes Costa, 18, known as "Rayza" [most reports give her social name as Raica], calls for justice for her death. The [trans woman] was found dead last Sunday (28), near the Ceasa road, in Belém. The request is for those responsible to be arrested as on as possible. She would have turned 19 on the next 4th.
The victim was from the municipality of Mocajuba, but lived in a kitchenette, in Belém, with a friend. According to the family, Rayza was not a drug user and had no involvement in drug trafficking. The burial took place yesterday, around 16h.
There is no confirmation that the crime was related to homophobia. The case is being followed by the Homicide Division of the Civil Police and investigators from the Marco Urban Section.
In December 2012 Gleyson Charles Araujo Barreiros Culaço, 23, was arrested on suspicion of murder. He had had a relationship with Raica for 3 years.
