Myléne was beaten to death with a hammer in her home in Couzeix, northwest of Limoges.
A transgender woman was murdered with a hammer in [Couzeix], France last week.
While police and local media are describing her as a transvestite or a cross-dresser, she was known by her friends and neighbors as Myléne.
The 42-year-old hairdresser was discovered by firefighters in her home in Couzeix at 8.30pm local time on Thursday evening (25 July).
A spokesperson for the investigation, who used male pronouns while describing her, said: ‘His friends were concerned about not having seen him for 24 hours so they raised the alarm’.
According to preliminary results, Myléne was murdered on Wednesday night.
‘It could have been an “appointment” that went wrong’, the spokesperson said, adding it was a theory yet to be confirmed.
On 17th September 2015, Petar Yankov was sentenced to 25 years for her murder.
