Alondra's decomposing body was found in undergrowth behind a shopping centre on Thursday 26th December.

Maracaibo - The [trans woman] found at Kilometer 4, behind the Los Churupos shopping center on December 26, was identified by her relatives as [deadname] Hidalgo Cárdenas (21), alias "Alondra".

The body remained in the University of Zulia morgue for 10 days, until last Friday when relatives came to identify her. They said that "Alondra", as they called her, began to live her life as a [trans woman] at the age of 17. When she manifested [her identity], she began to dress as a woman and live a life independent of her family.

"Alondra" lived in the Pradera Alta neighborhood, behind La Chamarreta, Francisco Eugenio Bustamante parish, and [did sex work] on Circunvalación No. 2. Sometimes she stopped to work on the road to Perijá, near the El Bonchón liquor store, according to reports.

Hidalgo's lifeless body was face down and in an advanced state of decomposition when it was found at 6:00 on the morning of December 26 in a hilly area. The last time [she] was seen alive was on Saturday, December 21. "She worked in the prostitute's crashed car, but she always got into a fight with the clients because she kept stealing from them," said a woman who did not want to identify herself on the day of the incident.
