Samatha was stabbed after an argument with another trans woman. Andressa Demétrio was subsequently jailed for 8 years and 3 months.
The [trans woman] Andressa Demétrio, accused of killing [another trans woman] with stab wounds after an axé show , was sentenced to eight years and three months in prison. The trial took place this Friday (5), in Belo Horizonte. The argument which ended in murder was over a wig.
The session was held at the 3rd Jury Court of Belo Horizonte, at the Forum Lafayette, and the sentencing council was composed of six men and one woman.
During interrogation, Andressa confirmed that she knew the victim, another [trans woman] identified as Samantha, from a [sex work] point in Belo Horizonte where the two worked.
On the day of the show, in August 2014, the accused said that they had a disagreement inside the Independência stadium, during which she assaulted and was assaulted. Andressa stated that she needed care due to the severity of her injuries, but later continued on at the event.
Outside the stadium, the [trans woman] stated that she was again threatened and provoked by Samantha and other people. That's when she stabbed the victim.
