Sara was shot by two men on a bicycle. She was reportedly the third trans woman killed in the same street.
A [trans woman] was killed around 8 pm, on Sunday night (12), in Camaçari. [Deadname] dos Prazeres de Jesus, 27, known as Sara, was a resident of Dias D'Ávila, and was killed on Rua Parque Central, a crossroads between Avenida Radial C and B, a place known as a meeting point for transvestites and their clients. Witnesses claim that this is the third [trans woman] killed in this street where they do the programs.
According to police information, the victim was accompanied by other [trans women] when she was approached by two men who were on a bicycle and shot them. “Sara” died at the scene.
Colleagues of the victim believe that the crime is a case of homophobia. “They killed for the simple pleasure of killing, out of sheer malice”, complains one of them.
