Tutku Linda was stabbed 200 times by a client. He confessed to the murder and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Tuktu ["Passion"] Linda, a transgender sex worker in her 40s, was killed with more than a hundred stab wounds on August 31, 2015 in the Ortahisar district of Trabzon.
A preliminary autopsy report revealed that the transgender woman suffered more than 100 stab wounds to her body. Experts examined the scene and found that the person who committed the transphobic hate crime was the only one.
Tuktu rented an apartment for two days to meet [her] client. [She] was attacked and killed by a customer named Vedat T. (25) in [her] rented house.
Following the incident, police found that the killer had walked away from the house wearing the trans woman's clothes after committing the murder, local media news61 reported. The transphobic killer took the bus to Giresun. The killer was arrested in the industry where he worked and brought to Trabzon.
The transphobic killer, who was detained and questioned at the police station, pleaded guilty. He confessed to hiding the knife he had committed the murder in the construction site at the top of the house. The killer reiterated his hatred in his police statement, saying, "I had a twisted relationship, I regret it, I killed her."
