Remembering Our Dead

Sandra Marafigo Cordeiro

Sandra was found dead on the morning of Wednesday 8th March in Cristo Rei Square, Laranjeiras do Sul, in the south of Paraná. According to reports she had arrived in the city during the previous week and had been sleeping rough in the square.

On the Saturday before her murder she had been beaten by some young people near the bus station, and gone to the police station to report the assault. Her death was a result of the head injury she suffered during the assault.
