Christa was killed by her husband.
She was found dead at her home by police on the evening of 5th January. Her husband confessed to striking her with a hammer and stabbing her with a knife, reportedly saying that he had “snapped” and done “something very bad” when interviewed by the police.
Christa was well known in the local trans community and produced the Miss Trans New England pageant.
On 23rd January 2020 her husband Mark Steele-Knudslien pleaded guilty to her murder and imprisoned for life.
