La Mariposa's body was found by police in an abandoned building after an anonymous call. She had been strangled.
A trans woman was murdered in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, and her body abandoned in an uninhabited building. The police authorities made the finding of the body on Tuesday after they received an anonymous report to the emergency numbers.
The facts were recorded around 1:00 pm after a call in which a person stated that a body was abandoned inside the Elenita building, located on 19th street of the Guanal neighborhood.
Elements of the police arrived at the place where they found lifeless the body of a transgender woman who was known in the area as La Mariposa ["The Butterfly"]. The body was inside a pool located at the back of the building.
According to information disseminated in the local media, the anonymous complainant explained that the murderer confessed that he had murdered a person with the help of someone else, and that both had disposed of the body in that direction.
According to some witnesses, the transgender woman was last seen last Sunday when she left to meet a man who was known as "El Negro", who in turn was accompanied by a person, presumably his cousin.
