A. was found dead on the street at dawn on Thursday 16th May after being beaten with a blunt object.

A [trans woman] was killed beaten in the dawn of this Thursday (16/5) in the 01 street in the West Sector, in Mineiros, 420 kilometers from Goiânia. Initially neighbors near the scene of the murder reported hearing gunshots and seeing three men suspected of fleeing the scene.

The Military Police of the State of Goiás (PMGO) was deployed at dawn to respond to the incident, as reported in the Integrated Police Service Registry (RAI). Upon arriving at the scene they found the body of the victim next to a sidewalk and cordoned off the scene.

After cordoning off the scene of the crime, police officers talked to neighbors, who reported hearing gunshots and going outside to see what was happening. According to the police one witness reported seeing three suspicious men in shorts and one in a black shirt.

Police said that after hearing the woman's testimony passed the characteristics of the suspects the other vehicles in the area, but none of the individuals have yet been found. The city's Medical Legal Institute (IML) arrived at the scene to collect the body. Their investigation identified that the victim was killed by beating and not shooting.

A. was from Poxoréu in Mato Grosso state, but had been in Mineiros for several years. She currently lived in the Alvina Paniago sector.
