The victim was stabbed following an argument. Her killer was arrested.
A 41-year-old [trans woman] was killed with two stab wounds to her neck at dawn on Monday (12) in Frutal, in Triangle Mineiro. According to two witnesses, the murder came after a fight between the victim and the perpetrator who, before stabbing her, punched and then kicked her while she was already lying on the ground.
The suspect and victim had earlier gone to a 24-hour establishment to buy cachaĆ§a [a distilled spirit made from fermented sugarcane juice]. The [trans woman] and suspect both left, but returned, arguing, ten minutes later.
The 22-year-old suspect had previously committed other crimes. He was found by the Military Police shortly after the murder, hiding in his maternal grandmother's house. He had bloodstains on his legs and feet and carried a four-inch knife that could be the murder weapon.
