The trans woman, who made a living as a sex worker, was the victim of a knife attack at approximately 3:15 a.m. yesterday, at the intersection of carrera 20 and calle 33 in the center of the capital of Santander.
According to 'Mother Chinchilla', a leader of transsexual sex workers, Lina Marcela was offering her services when she was approached by a man who was riding on a motorcycle.
“What they told me was that a man on a motorcycle arrived, called her and stabbed her in the chest. They called me and told me that she was injured, to [go to the] hospital, but after a while they called again and told me that she had already died, ”said the spokeswoman.
Lina was the second trans woman killed in the city centre in 6 months. On 21st April Jéssica Gómez Rúa ("Pajarita") was also stabbed.
