The victim was one of two trans women shot in the street by a client. She died at the scene but her 21 year old colleague survived. A suspect has been arrested.
"The Military Police (PM) arrested this Sunday (23), in Uberlândia, the suspect of shooting two [trans women] in Araguari. According to the police report, one of the victims, 31, died at the scene and the other, 21, was rescued. The main suspect, whose age was not disclosed, confessed to the crime.
"According to the military, during the Sunday afternoon the garrison was activated at Avenida Coronel Belchior, in the Goiás district, in Araguari, where two people were shot. At the scene it was found that one of them was already dead."
The younger victim was rescued by the team of the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and sent to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in the city. She had a gunshot wound to her back.
According to the police, witnesses said they heard the shots and then saw the victims lying on the ground. It was also said that a silver truck left the scene at high speed.
In view of the information, an investigation was initiated. It was discovered that the suspect's brother lived in Uberlândia, in the Granada neighborhood. At the scene, he allowed the police to enter and the suspect tried to hide on the roof. He was arrested, confessed to the crime and indicated where the escape car and gun were hidden.
According to the military, the main suspect in the homicide had carried out a program with the two [trans women] but after paying an argument had started and then he started shooting.
