The victim was shot twice in the head at a bus stop. A 16 year old suspect has been arrested; reportedly he had a grudge against her.
The Civil Police are investigating the death of a 51-year-old [trans woman], who was murdered at a bus stop this Thursday (12th), in the Granja de Freitas neighborhood, in the eastern region of Belo Horizonte. According to the Military Police, the suspect in the crime is a 16-year-old teenager who was apprehended.
The victim was murdered with two shots to the head and the motivation was a disagreement between victim and suspect. The teenager was arrested and said the [trans woman] had thrown a bottle of coffee at him and the suspect had since intended to kill the victim.
Before the murder of the [trans woman], the teenager had already gone to her house and shot the residence twice. According to witnesses, the suspect is responsible for frightening residents who rent houses illegally in the block of houses where the victim lived.
On Friday 13th March a teenager was arrested in connection with the murder.
Military police seized, at dawn on Friday, a 17-year-old teenager suspected of killing a [trans woman] yesterday in Bairro Granja de Freitas, in the North Region of Belo Horizonte. According to police, the crime was committed with a gun stolen from a city guard. He is also suspected of another homicide, a homicide attempt and other crimes.
