The victim was stabbed to death in her home. Neighbours reported hearing her argue with a man beforehand.

A 33-year-old [trans woman] was murdered with a knife in a property on Rua José Abílio, in the Granja Portugal neighborhood, in Fortaleza. The crime took place on Saturday night (16), according to witnesses.

The victim rented a house on the street a few months ago and was known to neighbors. The residents' report states that the [trans woman] argued with a man in the residence before being killed. The suspect fled after killing the victim. As she used to have many people visit the property, the neighbors did not know who could have committed the murder.

Last year, according to a report by the Gay Group of Bahia (GGB), Ceará was the sixth Brazilian state in number of LGBT + deaths. The National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals (ANTT) points out that among homicides, 11 were trans people.
