Shantall was shot in the street at around 6pm on Monday 6th July after being chased by assailants in two cars.
A transgender woman was assassinated by several shots fired at the hands of gunmen on a road in the Enciso neighborhood, commune eight of Medellín.
Regarding the violence, the police investigated some versions in which, the victim, apparently, was persecuted by several people mobilized in two vehicles. After reaching her, they shot her without saying a word. The transgender woman was not identified and her body was sent to the National Institute of Legal Medicine.
Shantall's killing came after that of Eilyn Catalina, 21, on June 28, International LGBTI Pride Day.
Shantall was listed as an unidentified victim in the TDoR 2020 memorial list released by Transgender Europe (TGEU) in November 2020. Her identity only became known in February 2022.
