Monic was a lawyer. Her body was found in the bathroom of her home with several stab wounds.
Inside the bathroom of his house they found the corpse of a transgender woman, known as Monic Martínez (44), in the Residencial Centroamericano of Comayagüela, with several stab wounds to her body, police authorities reported.
The body of the victim was admitted to the morgue under her legal name, [deadname] Martínez, which is the one that appears on her identity card.
The finding of Martínez, a lawyer by profession, was reported in the hours of Saturday night, and apparently, it had more than a day of being completed.
Her body was taken to the Forensic Medicine morgue of the Public Ministry for an autopsy to determine the cause and circumstances of her death.
A few days after Monic's murder a 20 year old suspect was arrested.
Tegucigalpa- National Police officers have just captured a subject for the killing of a member of the Lesbian, Gay, Transsexual, Bisexual and Intersexual (LGTBI) community in the capital.
The Special Victims Cases Investigation Unit of the Police Investigations Directorate (DPI), detained the suspect in a village in the municipality of Talanga, Francisco Morazán, northeast of the capital, where the suspect had moved to try to hide from the authorities.
The 20-year-old suspect was brought to the capital to present him before the Criminal Court of First Instance of the Tegucigalpa Judicial Section.
