Gul and another trans woman named Chahat were both shot by masked assailants after performing at a wedding function. Although Chahat survived Gul died in hospital.
A transgender person was killed and another was injured from gunshots by unidentified men in Peshawar's Tehkal area, police said on Wednesday.
Both victims were rushed to the Khyber Teaching Hospital, where doctors pronounced [deadname], aka Gul Panra, dead. The other victim, identified as [deadname] alias Chahat, is under treatment.
According to the FIR, a group of transgender persons had gone to perform at a wedding function and were preparing to leave when unknown people opened fire on them. The report further said that the victim was able to identify those involved in the shooting.
Two days later Saeeda was shot and killed in the same province.
Subsequently a suspect was arrested.
On Monday police arrested Rafiullah, and charged him with the shooting death of Khawaja Sara Gul Pandra as she was returning home from work. Gul Pandra was shot six times point-blank by a masked man on September 9, 2020, in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Her murder, the wounding of her companion Chahat and the rape of a cisgender woman traveling with her children sparked outrage and multiple protests.
