The victim was one of two unidentified women (the other being cisgender) found shot dead in a double homicide on the morning of Sunday 11th April.
Two women were found dead at dawn on Sunday, 11, at rua Tancredo Neves in the Pajuçara neighborhood of Maracanaú, Fortaleza Metropolitan Region. Among the victims of the double homicide is a transsexual woman, the second being killed in less than a week in Ceará. The victims have not yet been identified.
According to the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (SSPDS), a team from the Department of Homicide and Protection of the Person (DHPP), of the Civil Police of the State of Ceará (PCCE), was called to the scene. The victims were hit by gunfire.
Ceará Military Police (PMCE) and the Forensic Expertise of the State of Ceará (Pefoce) were at the site and gathered the first information. A police investigation has been launched and the DHPP will investigate the circumstances of the crime.
This is the second case of homicide against a trans woman registered in the state in a week. In the early hours of Monday 5, Pietra Valentina, 16, was stabbed to death in Juazeiro do Norte.
In January, Keron Ravach, 13, died after being beaten, kicked and punched for collecting a debt of R $ 50 from the suspect, another 17-year-old teenager. The victim was found dead in a vacant lot in the Apossados neighborhood, in the municipality of Camocim, located on the west coast of the state.
