Devanny was shot inside her home salon at around 8pm on Sunday 5th September. She was a trans ambassador for the state of Guanajuato.
Leon, Gto. The death of a transsexual woman in her aesthetics puzzled the residents of calle Molino de Guanajuato in the Paseos del Molino neighborhood.
This crime was registered at 7:45 p.m. in the business located in a house on the aforementioned street and the corner of calle Molino de Independencia. Neighbors claimed to have heard at least a couple of shots from a small-caliber weapon at the home where the victim lived and had her business.
Municipal police found the bloody body of the woman in the main room of the house.
Later, paramedics from the rescue corps arrived and confirmed the death of the victim, who was approximately 30 to 40 years old .
Most of the residents who approached the cordonings guarded by the Municipal Police and the National Guard and identified the deceased person as Devanny Cardiel, a trans ambassador for the state of Guanajuato.
Her neighbors were concerned about her death as there could be a hint of hatred towards her and there had been shooting crimes registered in the colony in recent days. At the time of going to press no detainees had been reported who were involved in the murder of the trans woman.
Today Sunday September 5th was taken the life of a great human being, a great trans ambassador friend of the state of Guanajuato Devanny Cardiel, we will remember you and carry in our hearts, thank you for giving us the chance to match in this life.

Devanny was originally from Silao, and had had to leave her home at 16 due to the rejection and violence she faced from her family for being trans. She was cremated the day before what would have been her 40th birthday.
