Andrea was stabbed in the street by an unidentified assailant. She died in hospital.
Authorities are investigating the murder of a trans woman in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, north of Cauca.
According to the judicial report, the victim, identified as Andrea Velasco Amaya, was killed with a knife at dawn on Wednesday, October 6, when she was walking on calle 6 between carrerras 13 and 14.
The municipal government secretary, Iván Carvajal, said that apparently the woman had an argument with someone on the street.
The Lgtbi community member was found still alive on a platform in the well-known Transquilichao sector. She was transferred to the local hospital and then referred to the Valle del Lili clinic in the capital of Valle but later died from her injuries hours later.
