Dayana's body was found in the street at around 8am on Wednesday 5th January. At around 3am that morning local people had heard the screams of a person asking for help, but could not see where the cries were coming from.
Cardenas, Tabasco.- the body of a [trans woman] with multiple gunshot wounds and a disfigured in the face was found on the morning of Wednesday, 5 January in the municipality of Cardenas.
The events occurred around 08:00 hours on Jacinto López and Reyes Hernández streets, in front of the well-known [Chedraui]shopping plaza, where an anonymous call notified the local emergency services.
Initial reports indicate that the executed person was found in undergrowth and was 30-year-old [deadname], alias 'Dayana Karrington'.
A suspect was arrested in late January.
The Tabasco Attorney General's Office reported that they arrested this Sunday the alleged murderer of the transgender activist , Dayana Karrington , murdered on January 5 in Cárdenas.
In a statement, the law enforcement body announced that the accused, identified as Cristian Ernesto 'N', was found on Ruiz Cortines Avenue, at the height of the Atasta neighborhood in Villahermosa. After his arrest, he was placed at the disposal of the judicial authority so that his legal situation could be determined.
