Possible suicide
Ezra died after falling from a high-rise building.
Our hearts still ache following the recent passing of Ezra (Nessa) Amos.
The 22-year-old, Hamilton-based artist, activist and housing advocate, allegedly fell from a high-rise building under construction near Bathurst and Bloor on March 31st.
After being detained by Toronto Police on March 30th, Ezra was forcibly transported to Toronto Western Hospital and admitted under Ontario’s Mental Health Act for further examination. Despite being admitted for a 72-hour hold, they were discharged on March 31st.
There has been a complete breakdown in communication with Ezra’s family. Ezra Deserves Justice & Dignity! We demand greater transparency from the TTC, TPS & Toronto Western Hospital surrounding the details of Ezra’s death.
Our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Ezra’s family, friends and community who will be laying them to rest this weekend. At this time, our team has committed to making a donation of $250 to support the family with funeral arrangements and healing supports. If you have the capacity, we encourage you to click the “Mutual Aid List” link in our bio to make a donation to the family's current GoFundMe campaign.
It is with broken hearts we announce that our comrade Ezra Amos passed away on March 30th. Their family has many questions and not been allowed to see the body.
