Michele was shot in the street. Her assailant escaped on foot.
A 30-year-old trans woman died in the early hours of this Monday (2) on Avenida Babita Camargos, in the Cidade Industrial neighborhood, in Contagem, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. The crime took place on the sidewalk opposite a private hospital on the road around 4:10 am.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim lying on the sidewalk with signs of gunshot wounds. A Samu doctor was called and found that the woman was hit by a shot in the armpits and another shot in the abdomen.
The trans woman, identified by the social name of Michele Marques, who has the nickname 'Mona', is known in the region for making programs. In her bag was found a knife with a medium blade, a bra, brush, hair comb and erotic products.
At around 4:30 am, at least four police vehicles were at the scene, but they were unable to find the suspect, who fled on foot.
A hospital attendant informed officers that she heard the sound of two gunshots and went out to check what had happened. According to her, a tall, dark-haired man wearing a white shirt was next to the body and ran towards the Cemig square.
Despite the hospital's security cameras, police officers identified that the angle of the equipment would not allow the crime to be seen. There is no information about the authorship and motivation of the crime.
