Isabella was stabbed in the neck after a party. A 27-year old suspect has been arrested.
The Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) arrested, this Tuesday (2), the man suspected of killing a transsexual woman, in the early hours of Saturday (30) , at QNP 19, in Ceilândia, Federal District.
The victim was identified only as 20-year-old Isabella Yanka. According to the Civil Police, the woman was stabbed three times in the neck. The identity of the 27-year-old suspect has not been released by the corporation. He confessed to the crime and was indicted for femicide, with the victim being unable to defend herself.
The victim's body was found with signs of violence by witnesses leaving a party. Security cameras in the region caught her and the suspect walking together, moments before the crime.
Investigators claim that the victim had gone to a party with friends in Praça da Bible. The friends said that they consumed a lot of alcohol and that the murdered young woman got separated from the rest of the group and was not seen again.
The investigation was conducted by the 19th Police Station in Ceilândia. After collecting the testimonies, the police obtained security camera footage showing the woman and the suspect. In the video, they appear walking towards the place where the body was found.
In other images, the man was spotted leaving the scene and going through the victim's bag. In the statement to the police, the suspect claimed that he was in a bar, when he was approached by the woman, who asked for drugs and offered sex.
The man claimed that he felt uncomfortable with the situation and attacked the victim because he would have been threatened. However, according to the Civil Police, the security camera images contradict this version, as they show the two walking quietly .
Also according to the corporation, the prisoner will be presented for a custody hearing, which will analyze whether he is kept in preventive custody or not.
