The burnt bodies of the victim and her parter were found in their home after a fire which appeared to have been started deliberately.
Although their names were reported, it is not clear which of the victims was which as only a deadname was reported for the trans woman.
Brazil – Last Monday (28), the Military Police of Alagoas was called to attend to the case of two burned bodies, including a [trans woman] in a house at Fazenda Prazeres, in the rural area of the municipality of Messias. The victims were a [trans woman] and her partner, found near the bed burned by the fire.
The victims were identified as Adriano Cardoso and José Amaro, and witnesses point out that the [trans woman] was with her partner when their burned bodies were found at the scene in the morning.
The suspicion is that the room was set on fire during the night and because it is an isolated place, it was not reported at the time of the event, but only the next day. The family did not know how to inform the possible motive for the death of the two.
A video recorded on site and shared on social media shows the situation in which the room was left after the incident, with the walls and floor in ashes due to the fire at the site. The body of one of the victims without clothes appears burned as well.
