Brazil is the most violent country for trans and travesti [people] in the world. And a case of this violence shocked Espírito Santo, a 41-year-old trans woman was murdered on Thursday night (3) in Pancas, in the northwest region of the state. The victim was stabbed in the chest. She was rescued, but couldn't resist the injury.
The MovNews report sought out the Military Police. In a note, the agency said it was called late last night and proceeded to the hospital in Pancas, where a trans woman had been admitted with a stab wound. At the scene, a man who accompanied the victim reported that the fact would have taken place in Lajinha de Pancas, during an argument between two other people.
The garrison proceeded to the address, where it located the 33-year-old suspect inside the former companion's residence. The man showed visible signs of drunkenness and did not resist arrest. The woman, on the other hand, reported to the military that she was in an argument with her ex-husband, when the victim intervened in order to defend her from the aggressions. The man and the trans woman ended up getting into a physical fight, at which point the man allegedly took a knife from his waist and stabbed the victim in the chest.
In a note, the Civil Police (PC) reported that the suspect of having committed the crime was booked in flagrante delicto for the crime of homicide and forwarded to the Colatina Regional Police Station. After giving testimony he was sent to the prison system.
The victim's body was sent to the Legal Medical Service (DML) of Colatina, to be necropsied and later released to the family members.
