Estrela's body was found in the waters of Barragem de Dagata. Her death is considered suspicious.
A 35-year-old trans woman was found dead in a dam located on the Cai-Aí River, in Sítio dos Pinhões, Rural Zone of Surubim, in Agreste de Pernambuco. The place is known by locals as “Barragem de Dagata” [Dagata Dam].
The young trans woman was known as Estrela Souza, [25] years old. She had left the house at around 1:30 pm and, according to initial information from witnesses, was found dead at around 4:00 pm.
The case is considered by the Civil Police as a “death to be investigated”. Estrela's body, or “Telinha”, was located this Saturday (6) and sent to the Caruaru Institute of Legal Medicine for examination. There were signs of drowning, but it needs to be confirmed, as well as whether the drowning was natural.
