The LGBTIQ+ community and society in general expressed their outrage at the murder of Luciana Román, a trans woman from Medellín, who was found dead in a hotel in the town of Chapinero, in Bogotá, last Thursday, April 25.
The Attorney General's Office announced this Saturday, April 27, that it is investigating the homicide and whether this event could be linked to a group of serial killers who attack people from the trans population and other members of the diverse community.
Luciana had arrived in the Colombian capital two weeks ago with the hope of starting a new life. However, her dream was violently cut short.
His loved ones, immersed in consternation, expressed their concern at not having heard from him for several days, despite his usual activity on social networks. Unfortunately, the worst suspicions were confirmed when his body was found with obvious signs of violence .
A close friend of the victim remembered her as a warm woman, dedicated to her family and with an energy that “radiated joy around her.”
“She was a very warm woman, very dedicated to her family, an exceptional human being. She radiated joy wherever she went. Her goal was to try her luck in Bogotá. She was apparently going to stay for a few days to see how she moved and well, well, there she found her final destiny, sadly”.
