Amanda died in hospital after being stabbbed by her partner.
Sadness reigns in the LGBTQI+ community after the trans woman known as Amanda Lucía Martínez died in the Santo Tomás Hospital in the early hours of last Wednesday, following a fight with her partner on in the town of El Chorrillo.
According to Ricardo Beteta, president of the Association of New Men and Women of Panama, he was informed that everything happened in the middle of an argument between [deadname] Martínez and her partner in which a knife was drawn .
The attacker stabbed Amanda in different parts of her body, including the neck. She then fell to the ground, stabbing herself in the back with spikes from an iron railing.
Several people tried to intervene to stop the man from stabbing Amanda further, and although she was taken to the hospital, she died.
