Safira's body was found the day after she had been reported missing.
A 39-year-old [trans woman], known as Safira, reported missing on Saturday, the 10th, had her death confirmed this Tuesday, the 13th. The victim was killed on Sunday, the 11th, in the Conjunto Palmeiras neighborhood in Fortaleza, with blows from sticks and stones .Although the body was collected on the same day as the crime, it was only on Tuesday that her family members identified it at the Legal Medicine Coordination (Comel).
They even reported the disappearance to the 12th Precinct of the Homicide and Personal Protection Department (DHPP), a unit specialized in incidents of this kind.
At the time of publication of this article, it was not known what motivated the crime and no suspects had been arrested. The 3rd DHPP is investigating the case, stated the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (SSPDS).People who knew Safira said she had no involvement in crime and "did not even have a criminal record." She was known for asking people in the neighborhood for money.
