Ana's body was found inside a candy and cake stand during the early hours of Friday 30th August.
A lifeless person was found around 5 a.m. this Friday, August 30, inside a candy and cake stand, located above a bus stop on Avenida Ejército Mexicano in Boca del Río, Veracruz.
After several hours, a coworker recognized the lifeless person who was identified as Ana, 40 years old, a transgender woman member of the LGBT+ community, originally from Tuxpan, Veracruz.
Initial reports indicated that Ana had allegedly been killed in an assault; however, her body showed no signs of violence, so this cause was ruled out. Her death is presumed to be related to health issues; however, authorities continue to investigate the cause of her death.
The events prompted an immediate mobilization of emergency and security forces. State Police officers arrived at the scene to cordon off the area , as did Naval Police officers , who carried out the corresponding procedures after the body was found .
Likewise, Red Cross paramedics arrived at the area and confirmed that the transsexual woman no longer had vital signs, so she was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (SEMEFO) for her respective autopsy and thus be able to determine the cause of her death .
Despite the police presence and the cordoning off of the area, vehicular traffic on the Mexican Army Avenue continued slowly but without major impacts following the discovery of the lifeless trans woman identified as Ana .
