The circumstances of Florencia's murder suggest that the man who killed her was a client. He was arrested after the murder weapon was found by police in his truck.
A truck driver was arrested early this morning for murdering a trans woman in the Buenos Aires town of Ensenada. The police managed to capture him inside a truck with an iron pipe that - it is believed - he used to kill the victim.
Buenos Aires police responded to a 911 call reporting a person screaming on the road to the La Plata Regatta Club, a grassland area bordered by the Doña Flora and La Fama streams and the Santiago River.
The officers arrived at the scene and found a Mercedes Benz truck in the middle of the road, something that caught their attention. Inside the vehicle was a man who looked agitated, according to the police report.
When they began to question him and search for the truck, the officers found an iron pipe with blood stains and a drag track that led to a pasture. There, among the bushes, they found the victim's body. She was half naked and had bruises on her head.
The truck driver was identified as Jhonatan Ariel Quintana, 34 years old. He was immediately arrested and initial investigations revealed that he had been reported for aggravated injuries on September 30.
The case was classified, for the moment, as simple homicide. It was placed in the hands of the Functional Investigation Unit (UFI) No. 16 , in charge of prosecutor Juan Cruz Condomi Alcorta.
