Isabela died in hospital after being shot by unidentified assailants who arrived on a motorcycle.

A 26-year-old transgender woman died at the Peixoto de Azevedo Emergency Care Unit after being hit by gunshots last night, on rua Frederico Campos in the Old City Center.

According to information recorded in the police report, the Military Police were called by residents who noticed the injured victim. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots coming from a house in the back and, shortly after, saw the woman jumping over the wall between the houses and running towards the street, where she ended up falling.

So far, the person responsible for the shooting has not been found. The victim's body was sent to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) for an autopsy, while the Civil Police investigate the case in search of clarification of the circumstances of the crime.
