Felix was murdered.

We don't have any details beyond those below, but it is worth noting that at the time the media tended to conflate sexuality and gender, so trans individuals tended to be identified by the media as homosexual.

Media coverage of the time pointed to this being part of a series of murders of primarily homosexual individuals in New York.
