Stephanie was murdered by Kelly Nichols, who had earlier picked her up in a taxi.
POLICE REQUEST: San Francisco police are appealing for a cab driver to assist them in their investigation of a murder.
Homicide Inspector Michael Byrne is looking for a cabbie who on Thursday morning reportedly took Kelly Nichols, 31, first to the 1900 block of Broadway, then to Polk and O'Farrell streets, where Nichols picked up [deadname] Hernandez, 23, a [trans woman] also known as Stephanie.
Hernandez was found later that same day in Nichols' Naylor Street home, beaten and stabbed to death.
Nichols is currently in custody on homicide charges. Police are seeking the cabdriver, believed to work for Luxor, to aid them in completing their investigation.
