Johanna was stabbed 120 times by Susan Mehuron. Mehuron had objected to her presence in a women's lodging.
MARTINEZ - A woman who allegedly stabbed a [trans woman] 120 times on Jan. 1 must undergo a mental evaluation to determine whether she is competent to stand trial, a judge has ruled.
According to witnesses' accounts, Susan Mehuron, 41, had been upset the morning of the killing because she thought Johanna Langer was a man and objected to her presence in a board-and-care home for women where both lived.
After calling police at least once, Mehuron suddenly started yelling, "That's a guy. That's a guy," and urging the other two female residents to help her kill Langer, witnesses told police.
She then ran into the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed Langer again and again as Langer cried out for help, the witnesses said.
