Kim/Mimi was found stabbed by a passer-by and later succumbed to her injuries.
Mimi was a transgender sex-worker in Washington, D.C., and had also been a key prosecution witness in a murder trial in 2000. On 9th April she was initially found, gasping for air, by a D.C. resident having been stabbed.
She succumbed to those injuries later that morning. 34-year-old Corena Niko Watkins was charged with her murder.
