Arthur Lee White, 50, was charged with first degree murder but was aquitted at trial.
BARTOW | Arthur Lee White was found not guilty today in the stabbing death of a Lakeland man in March 2005.
However, because there are still some cases pending against him, White will not be freed from jail.
White, 50, of Winter Haven, had been charged with the first-degree murder of Gerald "Ricky" Franklin Jr. Franklin, 44, was a homosexual who occasionally dressed in women's clothing.
White testified he had a friendly working relationship with Franklin. He said he would help sell clothing that Franklin stole from stores and would use the proceeds to pay for drugs.
Franklin's mother testified that she awoke the morning of March 25, 2005, to her son's screams for help. She found him covered in blood and stumbling around before collapsing on the floor of his bedroom.
