Daxi was found dead by the SFPD at a hotel in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. It is suspected that her death was the result of a pick-up crime.
Her murder was not recorded in the official Trans Day of Remembrance memorial lists collated by https://tdor.info. The source of the report was a fact sheet handed out by staff of CUAV (http://www.cuav.org) at the vigil for Ruby Ordenana in March 2007.
Staff of CUAV passed out a frightening fact sheet -- three other violent deaths of transgendered women have been reported to the San Francisco agency over the last year.... On November 11, 2006, Daxi Arredondo was found dead by the SFPD at a hotel in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. Ms. Arredondo was a 35 year old transsexual identified bi-racial Mexican-African American woman. It is suspected that Ms. Arredondo's death is the result of a pick-up crime....
