"Valdeci" Ferreira de Sousa

Valdeci died in hospital a day after being stabbed to death by their boyfriend Cristiano Pereira da Silva. The boyfriend was arrested after confessing that he murdered "Valdeci" after following an argument because of jealousy.

The [trans person] and hairdresser Valdir Ferreira de Sousa was stabbed on Friday night (04) in Vila Irmã Dulce, south of Teresina. According to police, the main suspect is their partner, with whom they lived for approximately four years. They died last Saturday and only today (8) was their body taken to the Legal Medical Institute.

The victim had been rescued by a neighbor who called Samu. The hairdresser was taken to the Teresina Emergency Hospital (HUT) but succumbed to their injuries and died less than 24 hours after being admitted to the hospital.

The family believes the crime was motivated by a fight between the victim and their partner. “He was very aggressive, he already cut his nose once and even promised to kil them” Vera Lúcia said.

Police officers from the 23rd Police District are already investigating the case and are looking for the suspect.
