Samaielly da Silva Nascimento

Samaielly was murdered on 30th April at around 11 pm in the district of Itinga in the municipality of Lauro de Freitas.

Friends of Samaielly said that she lived in an extreme state of social vulnerability as she had been kicked out of the house by her family when she transitioned at the age of thirteen. She had no job and lived alone in a small room.

“She was desperate, looking for a job. She was alone, there was no one. Her father lives on the island, the family was estranged from her because of her gender identity.” said a friend who prefered not to identify themself.
