Jony was found dead inside her room by a neighbour. Her hands and feet were tied and there was a pool of blood on the floor.

Coatzintla, Ver.- This day a young [trans woman] was found inside her house. Her body had signs of beating and her hands and feet were tied. She was found by a neighbor who, while passing the victim's home, saw the door open and noticed that she had not been seen in several hours.

Curious, they decided to enter to call her and discovered the fatal scene. The victim was identified as Jony SS and lived in a cuartería* located in the Xico neighborhood, in the municipality of Coatzintla.

* A residence, building or tenancy of small housing units that generally share a common bathroom and patio, often occupied by families with limited economic resources.
